2. Behavior
This section will cover the basic things in order to play with
other people. How you play also reflects how people
will treat you. Play nice and you will get friends.

1. Don't cheat/scam. Only lamers need to resort to this.
2. Don't leech. Nobody likes a lazy bum.
3. Don't go away from keyboard (afk) without notice. It can be crucial to have the aid
and if there is no backup...
4. Don't use offensive language, and CAPITAL LETTERS! That will just prove that your are
very immature.
5. Don't spam. We like to chat and read what other people write and its hard
to keep track if there is a lot of spamming going on.
6. Don't harass other people. Like invite to party without asking first. If we didn't want to
join your act the first time then we probably don't want to join you the tenth time either.
7. Don't beg! Grind the acts to get stuff like the rest of us.
8. Don't leave the party. You need a good reason for ditching your party.
9. Use your items for faster recovery (rec). Whining about that they are expensive will
not make you popular.
10. Help out the beginners. Even thought there are guides on the forum and the bbs, some
people need a helping hand.
11. Read the forum. There are guides who cover the most stuff. Don't be a lazy
bum and nagging other people, when you can find info yourself.

3. Magician Skills
Destructive Spells: Deals damage to your enemies.
Non Destructive: Strategical useful in order to defeat your enemies.
Passive:Permanent enhancements.
Not Implemented: Spells that are not in game yet.

Lightning Description: Attacks with electric energy of the wind

Effect
:
It jumps up to 2 times and is the sniper spell.
Beware that you can't move for 3 seconds (secs) and the spell has a 3 secs cooldown.
The description say cooltime (ct) but in other games it's commonly used as cooldown (cd).

Fireball-Description: Launches a ball of fire to attack.

Effect:
It's the close range spell and can target more mobs. 1 sec delay makes
it spamable.

Hellfire - Description: Strong wide range fire attack. To charge, use the Casting Words by typing: burn fires of hell

Effect:
It's your first wide area of effect (aoe) spell and it makes 5 wavelike attacks.
Beware that you can't move while using Hellfire for 5 secs. It has a 120 secs cooldown.

Tornado - Description: To charge, use the Casting Words by typing: winds of destruction

Effect:
It make a single strong attack and has a short aoe.
Beware that you can't move for 1 sec. It has a 100 secs cooldown.

Armageddon - Description: Uses darkness property magic to summon meteor swarms to rain down on the earth.

Effect:
It's the most ultimate spell the magicians have and it's your second wide
aoe damage spell. One big meteor is falling down from the sky, dealing massive damage (I call arma for Tomato Bomb)
Backdraw is the 300 secs cooldown and the huge power/mana (mp) usage.

Cast Word - Description: Type Casting Words to activate magic spells.

Effect:
It's needed for storing Hellfire and Tornado for later use.
You can only store one type of magic, either Hellfire or Tornado.
Maximum (max) of 5 spells can be stored.

Charge - Description: Allows you to charge magic for later use.

Effect:
Activate to release your stored spell.

Transfer - Description: Transfers HP to MP.

Effect:
It converts mp from your health/hit points (hp). This is very useful since you will need a lot of mp
and there are (should be) cleric/s that can heal you.

Curse - Description: Curse your enemies to lower their defenses.

Effect:
Reduces the enemies defense. (bugged/sucks)

Reflection - Description: Deflects skill attacks and debuffs at a set rate.

Effect:
Deflects special skill attacks. (bugged/sucks)

Dust Wind - Description: Blinds your opponents for a short period of time.

Effect:
Your enemies have a miss-chance to hit you. (bugged/sucks)

Despell - Description: Cancels 1 random buff skill of 2 opponents.

Effect:
Cancels 1 random buff skill from 2 opponents. (Worthless since pvp isn't out yet.)

Staff Mastery - Description: Magically enhances your staff’s attack rate.

Effect:
It Permanent enhances the attack rate with your staff/cane.

Magic Boost - Description: 1% increase for critical damage when using Casting Words.

Effect:
Increases your critical damage when using casting words. (the description is wrong and I don't know if
the skill actually works)

Prophecy of Death - Description: Launches fire based magic attack and decreases max HP by 1% for 10 seconds.

Effect:
Not implemented in game yet.

False Apocalypse - Description: Launches water property magic attack and decreases max AP, SP, MP by 1% for 10 seconds.

Effect:
Not implemented in game yet.

4. Stats
Int= Adds higher maximum magic attack and more mp.
Wis= Adds higher minimum magic attack, magic defense, accuracy points and evasion.
Con= Adds hp and defense. (trust me you want more hp...)

5. Equipment:
All equips should have +int/wis/con.
Currently all the gears from the cats (neko/pero) have the best gear in the game.
You don't get any negative stats when appraising and the minimum is +15!
Although appraisals can still fail (grr).
The equipments are very expensive, a complete set (4 pieces) cost 1 Million cony!

6. Items
You can buy these from Karl at end of
acts or buy them from Margaret in Little Town of Pantheon.

Recovery items
These items take some time to use and you will
sit down while recover.
Honey cookies, scrambled eggs and roses are used for mp rec.
Boiled/smoked eggs, and mints are used for hp rec.

Potions
These items have an instant effect.
Strawberry juice for hp rec.
Blueberry juice for mp rec.
Grape juice for hp and mp rec.

7. Leveling
There is a common term for reaching the highest level (lvl)
in a game and it's called a level cap.
It can also mean that there is a maximal experience (exp) gain from defeating
enemies. In this game I will refer lvl cap as the later one.

Max exp
To gain max exp, you will have to defeat enemies that are
5 levels above your own level. For example, your lvl is
10 and you will get most exp when defeating lvl 15 monsters.
Notice that the more members in a party, the more hp will the enemies have.

Party
When you are in a party there is 2 way of gaining exp and items.
The first one is shared and the second one is free for all (ffa).
Only the party leader can chose if he/she wants to set the
exp and items on shared or ffa. Be sure to look what settings
are set before you press the ready button.

Shared
Same for everyone.
Exp will be shared equally with your fellow party members.
How much you will gain also depends if people are within the level cap.
Get people around your own level in order to get max exp.
The more people in party, the less you gain. If you are the only
one in the map, you will get all exp, but you will likely have a hard
time to survive. There is a term called filling and that's when people
join your party and leave when the act is started.
Filling isn't a legal way to level, so don't use it.
Items on shared are distributed in order.
Shared party is highly recommended because it's fair for everyone.

FFA
First come, first serve.
The one who do most damage will get most exp in FFA.
How much exp you will gain also depends if you are within the lvl cap.
Contrary to shared, in FFA you will get more exp the more party members
you have. They have to be in the same map otherwise you will get less exp.
Items on FFA will go to the one who picks it up first.
If you do FFA, be not surprised if you won't get any heals/buffs or resurrections.

8. Tactic
So how to avoid dying? Don't tank, don't even think about tanking.
Since mages have the lowest hp and defense of all classes, we simply can't tank.
And to top it off, magical defense doesn't work as intended. Stay behind the tank/s (fighter/s) and cast offensive spells.

Use Lightning at distance, Fireball if they come to close. Hellfire when the fighters use
Battle Cry aka bc. (I call it battle lag. When bc's effect ends, it will have the same effect as lag.)
You have access to Armageddon at level (lvl) 24, but use it wisely because of the (mp) drain.
Use Transfer to rec mp faster.

9. Credits
[GS]Bookie, [GS]Jette - Got inspiration from your guides.
Hylthrine - For helping out in act 5.
JT17 - For helping out in act 7.

Thank you for being dedicated to the game and your class to make such an informative guide.

No Mage was even half as influential as the great Master Shari.
